Sunsets
Saturation
One of many things I like about Adriatic Sea is the beauty of the cost, and its combination with the Northern mountains, splitting the climate into two. Dinara, stretching along the sea often collects clouds from the continent creating one of the most amazing Sunsets in the world!!! I’ve presented here just the few out of hundreds that I made, dazzled with its beauty, being aware that sunsets pictures are mainly referred to as pulp. All pictures are original, unprocessed, some of them having imperfections, but who cares.
The beauty of the region is that you can easily run into pictures like these, every day, and if you are lucky, having nothing else to do but to carry your camera around – you’d soon feel like an artist.

Moments
Budikovac Isle
Budikovac is a small Island, few hundred meters south of Island Vis. It is very small (just few ha) but it is adjacent to on of the most beautiful bays in Adriatic. Although there is no tourist or nautical content (apart from a small house where Andro – former ferry captain makes perfect meals), there are always dozens of boats anchored, both during the summer and off season. There used to be a vineyard of Plavac Mali (famous Croatian red wine – Dingač, Postup, Plavac Issa), run by local wine cellar “Vinogradar d.d. Vis”, but it is now ruined by dryness and salt.
There are plans to plant new and renew old vineyard, reconstruct the house and make it a suitable place for guests (only few and exclusive), which I am looking forward. It is really one of the calmest places I have ever been in.
Up Against the Wall
There is no story behind this photo, it was taken in a row, among many others, during a day on Vis Island. While cleaning old files I found it and noticed that there is something that I like in it. Probably the colours, or … I don’t know, I just like it.
Vis Island Postcard Photo
Vis is a small (but the biggest) city on Vis Island, in the middle of Adriatic Sea. History may refer to it as Issa, and it has a history of wine making, fishing and great sea battles. Vis city has a perfect position, hugging a bay, and its harbour has been a shelter trough centuries. During Yugoslavia the Island was closed to public, because of a number of military installations (Tito: “Islands are ours battleships”). Because of this, and the distance from coast (ferry from Split takes 2 hours – not so far, but Brac and Hvar are closer), it was never a target of tourist stampeding, not until recently.
Last few years there is a ongoing interest for real estate on Vis, and now is very difficult to find a house, or even a ruin.
The picture shows why, it is really beautiful.
For Better or For Worse
One of these days when you do not know will you manage trough it.
I cannot really remember was the Sun going in or going out – you can read it as you like. Today I read the picture as optimistic one.
This picture was used on a 2005. calendar for Hermes group.
It was good neutral picture who could take throughout the year. I took it at swimming pool in Medjugorje, which is not only a swimming pool but a whole range of fun, both for kids and adults (apart from girls in bikinis).
Lookalikes
Haven’t really seen any Groucho’s films.
And I am not really interested in b/w history.
Sometimes, since I am a night owl, I run into a old movies, but rarely I do have nerve to pay any attention. Of course, I know who Groucho and Harpo (was it Harpo?) were, and I know something about their place in movie history, but, whenever I see them, they all look like Woody Alen to me. I prefer South Park. Haven’t really managed to watch trough any Woody Alen’s movies either, and I do not feel too bad about it.
Personalities
Medy
Dogs are one’s best friend, they say. Mine is just looking like one, but he’s he more a cat than anything else. He enjoys cuttling, and even adopted this funny sound cats make when satisfied. He’s two, and desperately looking for a female companion.

Medy has significant level of courage, when behind glass, he says stuff to much bigger dogs. When confronted, he’s usually quiet or hiding beneath my feet.
Seasons
Sailing on Blue
Just a few haven’t heard about Adriatic. Dubrovnik, for example, is, for years now, one of the most popular tourist destination in the world, and I understand it, but the crowds makes it feel just like any other rush hour city. If you compare the experience to the prices, you’ll notice that there is something wrong with the ratio.
Luckily, there is much, much more than Dubrovnik on Adriatic. Hundreds of kilometres of shore, thousands of Islands, perfect domestic food (if you know where to look for it), Southern Sun and The Sea which will justify the origin of the aquamarine colour. It’s probably the bluest ever!
Apart from thousand of tourists who are acting just like sheep, ready to be cut by the locals, there are plenty of them who find a way to enjoy and take the best out of the … everything that is there.
And there is plenty of it.
The Fall of Autumn
I come from the area where there are rich forests. Now I live in area with few pine trees and stone, stone, stone. Somebody said for the area – God made World in six days, and on seventh, he dumped everything here.
I really enjoy my occasional travels deeper into continent, away from the see, no matter the season. Took this picture during one trip which lasted much longer than it was supposed to, since I searched for the ways and means to capture astonishing colours produced by the dying leaves.
Deja Vu
Learn to live with
I’ve run into web site named adacta which is nicely design site and totally devoted against church bell rings. Apparently site owner – webmaster lives near one of the churches and he, most certainly, doesn’t have a better hobby.
I also live 70 meters from a church which has a habit celebrating both hours and halfs. When I first moved in, it was kind of new thing to me, especially when it started to count midnights.
Now I use it as a reminder to press sleep button on my hardware.
